This beautiful Weissenborn is one of the earliest examples of Richard Wilson's revered Mastergrade Weissenborns. It was traded to us by the original owner, who was travelling overseas and unable to take it with them. It is such an early example that there are no identifying insignias or serial numbers that pertain to Richard Wilson, however the design, 5A grade Blackwood and overall build quality are undeniably of Richard Wilson's making.
The instrument has some small general signs of play, in the form of some marks on the edges of the fingerboard from contact with slides over the years, and a few small playing marks around the body. There are no significant impressions, nor any dings or structural damage that would threaten the usability of the guitar. The guitar sounds tremendous, with fantastic acoustic resonance and sustain. There is a Fishman pickup currently installed across the soundhole, which can be easily removed.
The Weissenborn comes with a generic hard case, however can be fitted to something more secure for an additional cost at the buyer's request. Please email us directly at info@dwmusic.com.au for a more detailed insight into this rare and beautiful instrument.
