This guitar is in outstanding mint condition, but has been modified and upgraded by the previous owner. The modifications include an upgraded Tusq nut, along with open gear PRS locking tuners. Much more notably, the guitar has been refretted by local expert luthier Kenny McNally, who has upgraded the guitar to have stainless steel frets. The fretwork is world class, with perfectly rounded fret ends and evenness across the entire fingerboard. There are not dead spots or points of concern anywhere on the fingerboard; you would be forgiven in thinking the frets are direct from the PRS factory. The guitar functions perfectly, and comes with the original soft case & original tuners.

After ten years, the PRS S2 Series is being updated with USA-made pickup and electronics for 2024 (and beyond). We are proud to bring this added value to what has become a fully integrated part of our manufacturing line and product offering. We have also updated our Vintage-Style tuners to include a new “Wing” button. While, aesthetically, these new buttons are designed to echo the 12th fret bird wingspan design, they were first and foremost designed for tonal reasons. Because these buttons are lighter weight than their metal predecessors, they are subtracting less energy from the vibrating strings, thus helping the guitar ring longer and at a more musical note. The removal of the tuner’s locking feature on non-tremolo-equipped guitars further decreases their weight.
