The introduction of the updated Gibson Victory models in 2024 has been a big hit with modern players and fans of the 80s cult classic. It quickly became one of our more popular models, but we have regularly heard players request one change: “Can you add a Floyd Rose® tremolo?” Well, ask, and you shall receive! Gibson is proud to introduce the Victory Floyd Rose.
The Victory Floyd Rose retains all the features players love from the Victory Figured Top and elevates the model to the requested shred-approved level with the addition of a Floyd Rose locking vibrato. It features a mahogany double-cutaway body with an AA figured maple top. The 25.5” scale mahogany neck has a SlimTaper™ profile that is ideal for fast, fluid, and expressive playing. The longer scale length delivers a brighter, snappier tone. The ebony fretboard features a compound radius for a premium playing feel, delivering comfortable chording, easy string bends, and low action without fret buzz. It is equipped with 24 medium jumbo frets for an extended note range and is adorned with simple acrylic dot inlays.
The six-on-a-side Explorer™-style headstock is outfitted with Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners and a Floyd Rose locking nut. The Floyd Rose locking nut and tremolo ensure rock-solid tuning stability, no matter how fervently you work the vibrato bar. The hardware is chrome-plated, including the output jack plate. A black five-ply pickguard, black switch tip, and black Top Hat knobs complete the shred-approved aesthetic.
The highly flexible electronics include two uncovered 80s Tribute humbucker™ pickups with zebra bobbins that are wired to push/pull master volume and tone controls for coil splitting and inner/outer coil selection when the coils are split, which, along with the three-way pickup selector switch, deliver a wide range of humbucking and single coil tonal options with a minimum number of controls.
Here it is—the Victory model that players have demanded, and an ideal guitar for limitless self-expression and modern musical styles. Thanks in part to its 25.5” scale length, it also excels for use with drop tunings. Available in three gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes that highlight the figured maple top, it comes packed in a hardshell case for safe storage and transport.
