A Les Paul Custom with a long-scale neck
Gibson Custom is the pinnacle of craftsmanship, quality, and sound excellence. Each instrument celebrates Gibson’s legacy through accuracy, authenticity, and attention to detail.
The Les Paul™ Custom is the flagship model in the Gibson Custom Modern Collection lineup. Long a player favorite, it lives up to the high standards set when the model was first introduced in late 1953 and carries forward the “tuxedo” appointments and refinements introduced since then.
Now, Gibson Custom is proud to introduce a new version of the iconic Les Paul Custom. It retains all of the features and specifications of our regular Modern Collection Les Paul Custom, but with a 25.5” scale length instead of the standard 24.75” scale of standard Les Paul Customs, making this guitar an excellent choice for players who prefer the snappier attack of a longer scale length, as well as those who frequently use drop tunings.
The Les Paul Custom Long Scale features a one-piece mahogany body with nine-hole weight relief, reducing weight while retaining the resonant, responsive tone the Les Paul Custom is famous for. A two-piece plain maple top adds a touch of brightness to the mahogany’s midrange and warmth. Multi-ply binding on the top and back further reinforces the model’s flagship position within the Modern Collection lineup. The long-scale mahogany neck features a comfortable Modern Medium C profile and is attached to the body with a long neck tenon for maximum sustain and tonal transfer. The bound ebony fretboard features a 12” radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, and is adorned with mother-of-pearl block inlays. The multi-ply bound headstock is equipped with a Corian® nut, Grover® tuning machines with kidney buttons, and dressed up with a mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and split diamond headstock inlays.
The hardware is gold-plated, including the Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece. The Les Paul Custom Long Scale features a set of humbucker™ pickups with gold-plated covers, including a 490R in the neck position perfectly matched to a 498T in the bridge position. Hand-wired to quality CTS® potentiometers and a Switchcraft® three-way toggle switch and 1/4” output jack, they deliver smooth jazz tones to modern metal mayhem and everything in between.
The Les Paul Custom Long Scale comes packaged in a Gibson Custom hardshell case for safe storage and travel, along with a Certificate of Authenticity booklet. The Les Paul Custom Long Scale is the ideal Les Paul for those who love the tone, feel, and aesthetic of the Les Paul Custom but want a longer scale length.
