What is an AvantGrand piano?

What is an AvantGrand piano?

Most of the Yamaha hybrid piano designs are a 100% functional acoustic piano with the integration of digital piano technology… The AvantGrand series is this ethos in reverse. A flawless sounding digital piano, coupled with a real acoustic grand piano action, the Yamaha N3X is the hybrid piano for those seeking all of the convenience and capabilities of a digital piano, with absolutely no sacrifice in quality of piano  touch.

The action found in the N3X is that of a Yamaha C3X, a truly conservatory standard of grand piano, meaning that for the first time ever, when practicing on a digital piano there is no risk of diminished development of proper piano technique and ability. On top of this, the addition of the Ivorite keytops only adds to the authentic feel beneath the fingers.

The unique shape of the N3X not only reflects the grace and charm of a grand piano, but also adds a modern, almost futuristic element to this classic aesthetic. The space provided by the shape also allows for optimum placement of the speaker system, bringing an extra element of realism with the immediacy of sound, seamlessly connecting player and piano.

Virtual Resonance Modelling and Binaural Sampling means that the digital sample sound of the Yamaha CFX and Bosendorfer Imperial concert grand pianos have been recorded in such a way that every nuance and sparkle of these remarkable pianos has been captured and reproduced in the N3X, fully experienced even when using headphones.

This connection is further emphasised by the Tactile Response Technology in the 3 pedal system, allowing the player to gently feel the vibrations of sound through not only the keys but also the pedals. This integration of player and instrument encourages further expression and immersion in the piano experience.

Being utilised in prestigious teaching institutions, such as the Julliard School in New York, and professional music venues across the world, the N3X has been accepted by professionals and enthusiasts alike as a worthy and convenient replacement to the acoustic grand piano.
