The Wampler Catacombs is a programmable, all-in-one delay and reverb pedal that redefines your relationship with time-based effects.
Brian Wampler's lifelong pursuit of the perfect guitar tone led him to design the Catacombs, a pedal that balances versatility and ease of use. Musicians often struggle with managing complex sounds on limited pedalboard space, but the Catacombs solves this by offering 11 popular delay and reverb effects in one intuitive package. Whether you want classic digital delays or expansive reverbs, the Catacombs delivers without compromise. The pedal provides tap-tempo control and allows you to save up to eight presets for instant access. Its flexibility extends to running effects in stereo, parallel, or series configurations.Additionally, the Catacombs comes with a free software plugin version for your DAW, available in AAX, AU, and VST3 formats for Mac and PC.
The delay section includes six distinctive programs, from warm analog delays to the modulated tones of tape echoes. Meanwhile, the reverb side features five iconic settings, including lush halls, vintage plates, and shimmering ambiances. Designed for versatility and ease, the Catacombs puts a studio's worth of effects at your feet.
The Catacombs goes beyond delays, offering five meticulously crafted reverb programs that Brian and his team perfected. With a simple turn of a knob, you can explore expansive halls (HALL), a warm vintage plate (PLT), and a classic spring reverb (SPR) with plenty of "drip." The shimmer reverb (SHMR) adds a rich layer of sonic texture, especially when used with an expression pedal, while the ROOM setting creates an intimate, studio-like ambiance. Like the delay programs, each reverb is easy to control and can be saved into one of the eight onboard presets, making the Catacombs a versatile tool for shaping your sound effortlessly.
Similar to the Terraform and Metaverse, the Catacombs is built for fast and intuitive setup. We’ve done away with complex menus and finicky touchscreens, opting instead for clearly labeled knobs that let you make real-time adjustments with ease. With controls for Time, Feedback, Modulation, and Level—plus alternate functions for each effect—you'll have all the key features right at your fingertips.
When designing the Catacombs, Brian Wampler aimed to combine the best of both worlds. This pedal uses a high-performance DSP engine to deliver effects with authentic character and includes eight front-panel preset slots for instant recall of your favorite settings. For those wanting more, the Catacombs offers up to 128 presets with full MIDI control, optional stereo routing, a parallel or serial switch, and an assignable expression pedal input to adjust any parameter—or multiple parameters in real time. It’s a versatile pedal that evolves with your needs, adapting to any musical scenario.
