Origin
The Original series instruments represent the founding design as it was first realized, even before the first serial produced .strandberg* guitars. These guitars have since gone through several stages of refinement to perfect their ergonomics and tone but have steadily remained the backbone of the .strandberg* arsenal. Their character is pure with an appearance that displays the natural beauty of the materials from which they are made, and their tone is light, clear, and very defined. These are the guitars of choice for players desiring the signature benefits of the original .strandberg* design combined with refined looks and signature clarity of tone.

Chambered Swamp Ash body with Maple top
This combination of wood and construction creates a notably resonant instrument with fast attack and a great deal of energy in the high midrange/lower treble frequencies. A character that lends itself well to all situations that benefit from absolute note clarity and a direct, unobstructed responsiveness between fingers and instrument.

Birdseye Maple Fretboard
The fretboard is a part of a guitar that influences not only its tone, but also its feel and visual character in no small way, as Maple is a classic tonewood known for rugged stability, fast tonal response, and classic beauty all at once. The Birdseye Maple fretboards of the Original series guitars contribute to their striking natural appearance, and their smooth playing feel and fast note tracking as well.

Multiscale design
Each Original series guitar features a multiscale configuration perfectly adapted to its respective string count, string gauges, and tonal range. Multiscale instruments provide a more even string-to-string tension and tone compared to conventional scale arrangements while also enhancing playability and feel.

Sound
The core of the Original series guitars is their chambered Swamp Ash bodies with Maple tops combined with Maple necks and fretboards that produce a tone that is naturally lively with pronounced note clarity and fast response. The proprietary .strandberg* EGS hardware then firmly transfers the strings’ vibrations to the body for robust sustain and strong fundamentals, while the American-made Suhr pickups with diverse switching options provide a wide variety of amplified sounds suited for contemporary performers.
