For most of the ‘50s, the Telecaster’s design remained elegant in its simplicity; a slab ash body, one-piece maple neck and two single-coil pickups. The 1956 Telecaster Journeyman Relic adds some period-correct transitional elements to this time-honored design, including a faithful Journeyman Relic lacquer finish that grants it the look and smooth-playing feel of a well-loved guitar from 1956 while wearing in a personal way. The pair of Hand-Wound ‘55/’56 pickups are packed with authentic Tele tone—snarling and twangy—and the bridge pickup’s pole pieces are staggered to even out the inter-string response. Other signature aesthetic touches include a ‘55/’57 Tele bridge with steel saddles (as opposed to the original brass), 1-ply Eggshell White pickguard and one-piece tinted quartersawn maple neck with “10/56 V” profile that’s ideal for almost any playing style.
Other features include Fat ‘50s Tele wiring for even thicker tone, a modern 9.5”-radius fingerboard with 21 6105 frets, 3-way pickup switch, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and round string tree. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
