This cool old guitar is very much a player's grade instrument, with plenty of wear and tear present from a lifetime of gigs and playing from the previous owner. Most notably amongst the wear present, is the original Ibanez logo has come off the headstock. Interestingly, it doesn't appear to have been picked or scratched off, as there are no marks to suggest tampering. Instead, it appears to have simply rubbed off/faded off with time. Despite this, we have confirmed through the serial number and plenty of research that the guitar is all original and consistent with Ibanez spec from the era of manufacture. The rest of the wear on the guitar is cosmetic in nature, as one would expect from a guitar of this era. There are plenty of scratches and playing marks on the body, however no chunks missing or any that detract from the overall aesthetic. There is plenty of tarnish on the tremolo, however it functions effortlessly. There are some light marks on the back of the neck, however no major impressions or dings that could impact playability at all. The frets are in remarkable condition, such that we suspect it may have been refretted at some point, though this is difficult to discern. An awesome guitar for the Paul Gilbert fan, vintage Ibanez enthusiast, or lover of a well-played and excellently performing instrument. It comes with the original case, which includes the original tremolo arm, along with the original pickup selector and pot, which have been replaced at some point in the guitar's timeline.
The PGM100 is a solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1989. It is the initial signature model produced for American guitarist Paul Gilbert as part of the Paul Gilbert series. It is based on the RG770 and features the painted F-holes which would become a signature of the series.
