Taylor Guitars has chosen an ethical route for sourcing it's Ebony, which is a prominent material in Taylor guitars. In 2011 they established the Ebony Project and purchased a sawmill and plantation in Cameroon with the goal of employing and empowering the local community. The Ebony Project looks to study and refine ebony cultivation, improve production techniques, focus on forest replenishment and longevity, and minimise the effect on the environment to create a sustainable source of ebony.

Taylor Ebony slides are made from the ethically sourced wood from their Cameroon plantation and offer a smoothness and warmth that glass and brass slides can't match.
